Meaning of Suvarnabhumi

The meaning of Suvarnabhumi is "Golden Land" (pronounced ‘Sue wanna boom') which was named by King Bhumibol Adulyadej on September 29, 2000. The King laid the foundation stone for passenger terminal on January 19, 2002. For internal name is spelt with the Sanskrit langauge "Suvarnabhumi" instead of "Sawannaphum" (the Royal Institute).
